Product Defect

A manufacturing flaw, material failure, or quality issue that prevents a product from functioning as intended.

Product defects include manufacturing errors, material failures, design flaws, or missing components. Defect returns impact customer trust and may indicate supplier quality issues. Tracking defect rates by SKU and supplier helps merchants identify problematic products early and negotiate better terms with manufacturers. High defect rates may warrant quality inspection requirements or supplier replacement.
